Salin Pokharel father with Rishi Dhamala
Chitwan news- Salin Pokharel 13 years old girl studying in Ekata Sishu Niketan school was found dead in the same school hostel in 24 Feb. Ekata Sishu Niketan is located in Chitwan Ratnanagar-8 where Shalin was studying in class 8. She was found hanging in her hostel room. Deceased father Dipendra Pokharel had questioned to the Prime minister of Nepal what would he had done if this had happened to his daughter? through media.
Salin Pokharel father Dipendra Pokharel and her uncle Mahesh Pokharel gave an interview with Rishi Dhamala. We can know more about the incident through this:
- How did you know the news? what happen next?
Fagun 12 saturday around 11 I got a call from the police he asked me, are you the father of Salin, I said yes, and he told me that your daughter had attempt suicide. At that moment I was not able to think anything.
2.Who told you the news?
The person who called me was showing as Ramesh Bista in my truecaller. After they informed me sometime later I called back and told them until I didn’t reach there not to do anything, do not touch anything whatever had happen, when I will come there than we will start to investigate in front of my eyes, but when I reach there the door was already opened, baby clothes and shoes were all dunk in water, floor were all cleaned and was tidy. when I go there my daughter was hanging with both her knees touching the ground. can people suicide touching their both knees Rishi sir? This is a simple thing every people can understand. How could even 13 year old girl imagine to suicide? The girl at age who asks baba I want to go to washroom please turn the lights on, how could she think to do that.
3. How was the deceased body when you reach there?
Her both knees were touching the floor, it was folding like we used to sit, her glasses seems like it was put there after the incident because the person who hanged herself when hanging her glasses should have to fall in the ground but it was in her ear, even in the down part of her ear. The glasses which was in her ear hole must have to fall in the ground. That glasses was put later. The person who was dying tomorrow why would she wash her clothes why would she prepare for the tomorrow workshop. Why should a dying person wash, bath herself and die.
4. What happen next after you reach there?
We asked to call local administration, people’s representative, police administration, CDO, but the place of suicide more than 40/50 people were coming and going, isn’t the room should have locked or seal by the police. After that my brother Hari Pokharel I still had a video footage, was forcefully taken away by police and was taken to Ratnanagar Tagi Police station and put in the custody. We beaten by brother has some marks, we were not allowed to speak, we were told if we speak we will be shooted.
5. Who told you that?
In that crowd we didn’t know who says that, even when we asked them to meet our daughter friend we couldn’t, all were sifted away, even the school teacher were not there, all 40/60 people were outsiders we didn’t know.
Mahesh Pokharel told “when we reach there we can feel that it is not suicide, that seems like a murder, we asked to bring forensic people to see the fingerprints in around the rope, in the cloths, so we were forcefully pulled out even I have some wound in my neck. We can see the wound in our daughter legs,cheeks we went to police for complaint but they refused to take complaint for 3 days. Police told us you should remove the (किटानी जाहेरी) names in the file then only we can take your complaints. When there is raped and muder, how could they say to file just a simple complaint. what kind of rule is in this government? This is fact that it was a murder after rape, what I am speaking is truth. (Dipendra crying)
6. Why didn’t they take complaints tell me Salin father?
We did the complaints against principal, vice principal and hostel warden, I still have 5/6 copies of files where police officers has clearly written to cut the names of the people, to remove the names of them in the complaints.
7. So you do not have trust in police?
They didn’t file my complaints for 3 days how should I trust them. In the last moment police administration told us they need to asked in the higher level, who is in the higher level. One child is raped and murder, her father carrying a complaint in his pocket walking though the road of Chitwan and Bharatpur for 4 days. I told you I have 5/6 complaints, do we have to file a complaint as they say, it is their duty to investigate isn’t it. Sir, we don’t know any political person, we are from ground level we don’t know the higher people, how do we get justice, who is going to five us justice. If this had happened to someone from the leader family, they must have given public holiday or grief but today who is helping for my daughter. Only this social-media is helping me today let’s see where this will take.
8. After you tell this incident in front of the Reporters club it became the national subject or crime, everybody started to talked?
Still that, it is already been 1 week of the incident but there is no report of postmortem, where is postmortem report, for whom it was done, we went to get the report of postmortem but we were told “that this has to be given to police, we will not give it to you”, that is our daughter and we are not allowed to know why she was dead, the reason of dead. We are the victim side why we are not allowed to know the reason of the incident. Shouldn’t I have to know the cause of death of my daughter, what kind of justice is this, people who died always die like always Nirmala Panta, Bagirathi Bhatt and now my daughter Salin Pokharel. They are trying to make my daughter same like others but here today from your program I want to tell all “I will not let it go that way, I will give justice to my daughter”.
Mahesh ” I want government should take notice to this that there should be a hanging or death sentence for the person who has done this kinds of crime, I think the youngster who are in the upper level in politics they will consider and will move towards this rule, this should be made if not then how will the person living in this country will be safety or get security. How can we send our children to school.
9. So tell me about Salina school, from when did she was there,why did you put her in the hostel?
Salina was there from 2 years, we both parents live outside, we meet her on Tihar, Salina’s mother brother house was nearby so we keep her there, we used to talked I had talked with her may be 14/15 days before the incident. We used to talked through the hostel warden Kamal Sharma’s phone at first we used to talk nicely but in the later he always tells that he is in Kathmandu, he is outside or Salina is in the class and he used to get angry and said do not to disturb. We had already planned to change her school after class 8, she had discussed with us in Tihar she will study in Kabya Academy in Kathmandu. We both father daughter came and visit Kavya Academy and it was her desire to study in Kavya.
