Today many Nepalese people are living in New Zealand, many of them went their as students and many of them as workers. New Zealand accepts people from different countries. People can get New Zealand citizenship following their country processing rules and regulations, that might be the reason Nepalese are sifting in New Zealand. There are different kind of rules and regulations to enter New Zealand. In this article we are going to know what should you carry or what should you bring and shouldn’t in New Zealand.

What must you carry or bring from Nepal to New Zealand ?

  • Passport: You must have your passport with you when you are travelling from Nepal to New Zealand. Your passport must have minimum of 6 month of date.
  • Visa copy: New Zealand doesn’t stamp visa in your passport, they give visa in a form of print so you must carry your visa copy with you.
  • Plane ticket: Because you are going by plane it is obvious to have your plane ticket, make sure to check your visa copy and carry your return ticket if asked or needed.
  • Money: Whether you are going as a visitor, student or as a working person you must carry some money with you, make sure to exchange it in New Zealand dollar or US dollar. Don’t carry too much money, make sure to only carry as much as you are allowed.
  • Clothes: Carry your clothes with you, make sure you have bought the right clothes according to the weather of New Zealand. New Zealand has an opposite climate/weather to Nepal. If you are coming as a student or a working person make sure you have their contract numbers and address so you can tell the immigration officers if asked or if needed.

What you mustn’t carry or bring from Nepal to New Zealand ?

  • Home-made item: Usually homemade items like dry meat, ghee, or any meat and dairy product are not allowed to bring in New Zealand. You can bring homemade pickles like फिलिङ्गेको अचार and भुटेको मकै, गुन्द्रुक but you must have to write its name and ingredients in the packet and must need to declared in the airport while luggage checking. If you are not comfortable in english talking or you think you might not be able to persuade them then it is good not to bring those items. You might be fined or send back directly to Nepal in some cases.
  • Fruits and vegetables: Every kind of fruits or vegetables are banned to carry or bring inside New Zealand so be sure not to carry any of that.
  • Drugs: Any kinds of drugs might get you in trouble so avoid bringing them.
  • Medicine: Medicine are allowed to bring but you must have a doctor prescription and your health conditions proof certificate.
  • Dust or soil: Make sure your all clothes are properly cleaned and your shoes doesn’t have any soil in it because if you have so you will be fined or can be send back for not following the rules.
